Please read these terms and conditions carefully prior to booking with us.

Escape to the Sauna Terms and Conditions

General Terms and Conditions:

Sauna Guidelines:
We want everyone to enjoy a safe and relaxing experience. Please follow these guidelines:

General Safety:

  • Hydrate: Drink plenty of water before and after your sauna session.
  • Time: Listen to your body—we recommend that you sauna for 5-15 minutes at a time.
  • No Glass: For safety, no glass is allowed in the sauna—bring your own water bottle.
  • Jewellery: Remove all hanging jewellery to prevent burns.
  • Entrance area: Please ensure that the entrance is kept clear to allow those in the sauna to exit when they need to. This area is not a changing area and is needed by our staff to monitor your safety and the sauna during both communal and private hire sessions.
  • Changing: We are a wild sauna and spa. We don’t currently have changing facilities, so please arrive ready to change wild too as you would for a swim in the sea.
  • Sauna Stove: Do NOT touch the stove, flue, rocks or surrounding.  It’s very hot! If you’d like another log, please ask and your sauna host will add this to the fire.
  • No running anywhere on site.

Health Advisory:
If you have underlying health conditions, consult your doctor before using the sauna. Do not use the sauna if you are / have:

  • High or low blood pressure
  • Heart or circulatory disorders
  • Epilepsy or diabetes
  • Pregnancy
  • Dizziness or fainting spells

Etiquette:

  • Footwear: Remove shoes and wash your feet before entering.
  • Towels: Always sit on a towel while inside the sauna.
  • Hygiene: Remove makeup and skincare products and don’t sauna if you’ve dyed your hair in the last 72 hours.
  • Pouring Water: Only pour the provided “sauna water” on the stones. Ask other bathers before adding water to the stones and please pour slowly to avoid splashing.
  • Timing: Please ensure that you are clear of the sauna at the end of your session to allow the next session to begin.
  • Respect Privacy: During social sessions, please refrain from taking photos or videos.

Restrictions:

  • Alcohol is not permitted
  • Nudity is not permitted.

  • Children of 16 years and under are permitted to use the Sauna, with an Adult Family Member/ Guardian present at ALL TIMES during the hire and use of the sauna.

  • Children of 12 years and under are not permitted to join ‘social sessions’, without prior consent.

  • No under 5’s allowed in the sauna.

Disclaimer:

  • The Sauna is an extreme environment.  You use the sauna at your own risk. If you have any of the conditions noted above you must not use the sauna and if you have doubts about your health and sauna use, please consult your GP before booking.
  • Cold water is an extreme environment.  Your use of the sea and/or cold plunge is at your own risk.  Ensure you’re capable of swimming in varying sea conditions and temperatures before taking part.
  • We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove anyone deemed unsafe from the sauna without refund.

Loss or Damage to Property:
We cannot take responsibility for loss or damage to any customer’s property.

 

Group Bookings – Responsibility for Group Bookings:
If you are making this booking on behalf of a group, as the lead of your group it is your responsibility to point other users to this information especially ensuring that they are aware of the Health Advisory.

Assumed Fitness for Participation: For any booking, it is assumed that you have checked and understood the requirements of the activity and that you are aware of what your limits are, including how you are feeling on the day.
It is assumed that in turning up for your session and by continuing to take part, you are medically fit and able to take part in the session you have signed up for.

 

Data Protection:
Member information will be handled in accordance with Escape to the Sauna’s privacy policy and GDPR regulations.
Personal data will only be used for membership management and communication purposes.

 

Cancellations:

Cancellations / alterations must be made at least 48 hours in advance. Refunds for client cancellations are provided in the form of credit, while cancellations initiated by Escape to the Sauna are refunded to the original payment method. We regret that we cannot offer refunds or reschedule appointments with less notice than 48 hours.

Please ensure that your correct details are entered at the time of booking so that the information on your booking is sent to the correct email. We cannot take responsibility for errors made causing you to miss your booking.

 

 

Membership Terms and Conditions

Membership Overview:

Membership grants access to discounted rates for online sauna bookings, priority access to some events, and exclusive access to others.

  • Memberships are valid across all Escape to the Sauna locations. Location opening hours are subject to change.

  • Memberships are non-transferable and apply only to the individual registered.

Membership Levels:

Escape Membership

  • Can be purchased monthly or annually.

  • Members can access discounted rates for communal sessions.

Escape Premium Membership

  • Can be purchased monthly.

  • Includes up to 16 hours of communal sauna sessions per month.

Booking Policies:

  • Members are required to book sessions online and in advance.

  • Bookings are subject to availability.

  • Members can have up to 5 live bookings at any one time to ensure fair access for all.

Cancellations:

  • Memberships are non-refundable and continue monthly unless notice of cancellation is provided. To cancel, we require one month’s notice.

Escape Members:

  • Bookings are subject to the same cancellation policy as non-members, requiring cancellations or alterations to be made at least 48 hours in advance.

Escape Premium Members:

  • We ask that you respect the membership and our cancellation policy by giving at least 48 hours’ notice for all cancellations.

  • If 3 or more sessions are canceled within 48 hours in a single month, we will consider applying temporary block on further bookings.

Additional Information:

  • Membership discounts do not apply to all events or special promotions.
